Hull City's Portugal escaped turned into something of a nightmare on saturday evening with an Ex-Tiger having a goal scoring field day against his former colleagues. Nigel Pearson's men took on Premier League side Sunderland in Albufeira, Portugal, but it was the Black Cats - led by one time City here Fraizer Campbell - who emerged victorious as the pre-season preparations continued...
Former Hull City hero - Fraizer Campbell - was in devastating goal-scoring form on Saturday evening, to put the Tigers to the sword in Albufeira, Portugal during the latest pre-season preparations taking place ahead of the Championship season kicking off in earnest against Swansea City at the Circle on August 7th.
Campbell was the architect in chief scoring all four of Sunderland's goals as the top flight side clinched a 4-2 victory over in Portugal. Sunderland took an early lead before Craig Fagan equalised from the penalty spot, but then the former City hitman took over slamming in a further three goals to give the Wearsiders a 4-1 half time lead.
City fared marginally better in the second half as the top flight side took their foot off the gas and with the latter 45 minutes of the match crammed with kids wearing the Amber and Black, it was veteran local lad Nick Barmby who grabbed a later consolation for the Tigers to give the scoreline a moderately better 4-2 finish.
